Did You Know September is National Bourbon Heritage Month? Sponsored by Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning, the bill passed by unanimous consent on Aug 2, 2007... marking September as National Bourbon Heritage Month. Here are a few recipes to get you started. We suggest picking up a few bottles of Bulleit Bourbon, gathering the guys and trying all these. Cheers! ​

Whiskey Sour

  • 1 ½ oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1 maraschino cherry
 Add Bulleit Bourbon, lemon juice, and sugar. Shake with ice and strain into chilled rocks glass. Garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Kentucky Mule

  • 1.25  oz. Bulleit™ Bourbon
  • .5  oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1  top(s) ginger ale
  • 1  wedge(s) lime(s)
Build drink in a copper cup. Stir. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Bulleit Rye & Dry

  • 1.3 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
  • Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer to fill
  • Lime Wedge
Build Bulleit Rye and ginger ale/beer over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge, stir and serve.

Hot Toddy

  • 1 1/3 oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 1 Lemon Twist
  • ¼ lemon juice
  • 1 tsp demerara or fine brown sugar
  • Hot Water
To begin, fill up glass or mug with fresh boiling water and let stand. While mug is warming up, cut a lemon twist and stud it with cloves. Next, throw out the water in the mug and add fresh boiling water. Add 1 bar spoon of demerara or fine brown sugar and stir to dissolve. Add lemon and clove garnish, ¼ ounce lemon juice and stir. Finally, add 1.3 ounces of Bulleit Rye or Bourbon and stir a final time.

Kentucky Calling

  • .75 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
  • .25 oz. solera sherry
  • .25 oz. medium style amaro
  • 2 dashes mole bitters
Stir and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

Mint Julep

  • 1.3 oz. Bulleit™ Bourbon
  • 1.5 tsp sugar
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Water
 Muddle mint leaves, sugar, and splash of water in a rocks glass or julep cup. Add Bulleit™ Bourbon, water, and fill glass with crushed ice and stir. Garnish with fresh mint.

  • 1.3 oz. Bulleit™ Bourbon 10 Year Old
Serve in a rocks glass.
